OUR STORY

PERMACULTURE - SUSTAINABILITY- INDEPENDENCE

Eagle Creek Family Farm is a 20 acre permaculture farm situated in Eagle Creek, Oregon just a short drive from Mt. Hood. ECFF was established in 2015 with the mindset that it's up to us to learn how to live sustainably, independently and self sufficiently with the land around us. Here we strive to support our community while learning how to rebuild and renew each other season after season.

ABOUT EAGLE CREEK FAMILY FARM

Permaculture is the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. Eagle Creek Family Farm uses methods like rotational grazing, crop rotation, Hugelkultur, and many other sustainable practices in order to live side by side with the land and community around us.

Our animals are sourced through trade and barter techniques as well as bought through local stores and farmers, as close as the farm next door. We believe this keeps community ties and resources thriving as well as building a network of like minded individuals fostering long lasting tradition and values.

Our produce is grown year round through several methods. We rotate our crop beds each season. This ensure that soil can rest, and maintain its vital nutrients. We also use raised garden beds and green houses, maximizing space and allowing us to grow year round. Our Hugelkultur mounds support the local ecosystem and employ sustainable composting methods as well as add beauty and functionality to the landscape.
